Subject:Rule omitting tanwiin before bnu in Standard Arabic
The general rule, as is well known, is that in the structure 'X bnu Y'
the 'tanwi:n' is
ommited from the first, e.g. 'zaydu bnu `amrin'. What about, for
example, 'abu: bakri(n?) bnu abi: quHa:fata' ?
and 'hindu(n?) bintu zaydin'?
Many thanks,
Ethan
