Conference on Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language
To all TAFL graduate students and AFL professionals: Mark your
calendars for a TAFL conference in 2013:
Teaching Arabic in a Changing World: Needs and Challenges
Conference will be held at the American University in Cairo (new
campus) and is sponsored by The American University in Cairo and The
University of Texas, Austin. The conference will be held from Jan.
9th till Jan. 11th, 2013 and will feature 1) a one day pre-conference
workshops, 2)key note speakers, and 3)panels dealing with a variety of
themes (best practices in teaching and skill development, using
technology to motivate learners and facilitate AFL learning, changing
needs of AFL learners, Learning strategies, enhancing learner’s
autonomy, curriculum design and enhancement, evaluation & assessment,
community-based learning, second language acquisition research and AFL
applications, TAFL teachers education & professional development).
Details about registration, paper submission deadlines, pre-conference
workshops, keynote speakers, accommodations etc. will be coming up
