Dear Colleagues:

New York University has received a STARTALK grant from the National
Foreign Language Center to offer a 2-week residential intensive teacher
training program designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of
school, community and college instructors of Arabic this summer
Participants learn
the most up-to-date student-centered, project and performance-based,
standards-based teaching methodologies in a learning-by-doing
environment.

DATES:  June 11-22, 2012

SCHEDULE:  9 AM - 3 PM

LOCATION:  Classes will be held on NYU premises in Downtown Manhattan

CREDIT AND FEES:  Participants can elect to take this program as a
continuing education course or a credit-bearing one for 2 graduate credits.
(There is a graduate scholarship on a cpompetitive basis.) All
participants receive
a final grade and a transcript from NYU. The grant covers $700
tuition per participant (out of $900 + $20 registration fee), as well
as accommodations for two weeks on the NYU campus, breakfast, lunch
and coffee breaks on school days.  Participants are responsible for
$220 towards tuition and transportation expenses.
