Subject:Needs studies of pronoun use in Arabic

Dear list members,

As explained in my other mail, we are planning to conduct a psycholinguistic
experiment on German/Arabic L2 speakers. In particular, the we are planning to
study the use of pronouns in particular contexts and for this reason we are
looking for studies on the use of pronouns in Arabic. We would be especially
interested in studies regarding the use of 3rd person sg. pronouns (huwa, hiya)
vs. lack of pronoun (so-called 'pro-drop'), but also personal pronoun vs.
demonstrative (hāḏā/hāḏihi and ḏālika/tilka) in Standard Arabic and in the
dialects (for example, Egyptian huwwa/hiyya vs. dah/dī vs. no pronoun).

So far we haven't been able to turn up much, but perhaps we're looking in the
wrong places... :-) Any kind of study would be helpful, theoretical,
experimental, corpus-based, etc.

We would appreciate any pointers or hints you could give us.
