Marhaba Dil:
I had the opportunity to visit last summer The World Learning Center
in Muscat, Oman and I was thrilled with their classes. They offer a
full immersion program in Arabic (both MSA and colloquial) taught by
highly skilled native speakers. I highly recommend this program in
Oman. For further information about their program in Muscat and
Salala, you can write to J. Larry Brown, Director of the Program at
larry.brown at world.learning.org

Hi Dil,
There is the Gulf Arabic Programme (GAP) in Buraimi, Oman, right at
the border with the UAE (Al Ain). They do both Gulf Arabic and MSA.
I received some Gulf dialect tutoring there about 5 years ago and
found it very beneficial. At the time, I had looked for something in
the Muscat area and could not find anything, but something may have
popped up since. I also heard about a program in Salalah, but I can't
find any information now, so it's possible that it's not there
anymore. Here is the link for GAP:

There are several great options:
1. Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center, 202-261-1690, runs a summer language
program in Muscat for non-native undergraduates who have already had at
least a year of Arabic. Contact person is Scott Erich, a really terrific
and knowledgable guy. His direct email is serich at sqcc.org
2. The other option is to contact the World Learning Oman Center directly,
because their teachers give tutoring on an ad-hoc basis. Their number in
Oman is +011 968 24422230. The email is
*info at oman.worldlearning.org*<info at oman.worldlearning.org>.
I hope this is helpful to you!
