Hi guys,
I was asked by couple of Arabic-l subscribers about an excellent
Arabic series in the US. I just wanted to share the answer with the
colleagues and friends here.
One of the best Arabic series in the US is Ahmed Khorshid's
SAHLAWAYHI which is graded readers and a grammar book. One can order them
from the AMAZON.COM <http://amazon.com/>.
The stories in the graded readers are top class. I read them
myself and was really happy. As an Egyptian, I found the stories excellent
as they really reflect real life stories from Egypt (e.g. RIHLA ELA TANTA
"a trip to Tanta" and RIHLA ELA ASPANIA "a trip to Spain") are excellent
examples. Moreover, the stories and exercises provided reflect current
events such as the uprising in Tahrir and the political statusquo in the
country. I really recommend reading them. I read em twice so far and will
read em again.
The one who reads such stories will not only learn Arabic but also
he/she will learn heaps about the Egyptian culture and habits.
