I think the clearest example comes to mind is the word pen `Qalam' in
Egyptian Arabic (EA). Egyptian people pronounce it as  "?alam". "?alam"
means either pen, or pain. However, these two words are different in
writing قلم  , ألم

Also the two different words: Permit (جواز ) , and Marriage ( زواج), it is
written differently in EA, but they are pronounced the same, I think, as
`jawaaz'.

There is also a book titled "A dictionary of Arabic Homonyms" By AbdulHalim
