Subject: MLA 2015 CFP:New Approaches to Vernacular Languages in the US
MLA 2015 Call: New Approaches to Vernacular Languages in the US
The General Linguistics Discussion Group of the MLA announces a call for
papers for the MLA 2015 Convention in Vancouver, BC. This panel seeks
abstracts of 250 words addressing new approaches to the contemporary or
historical presence of vernacular languages that are spoken and/or written
in the US.
For this panel vernacular languages may include any of those languages
spoken or written now or in the past in any of the communities of speakers
in the United States, e.g. Los Angeles Vernacular Spanish, Indigenous or
Native American languages, African American Vernacular English, Cajun
French, Texas German, US Arabic, etc.
Presenters must be members of the MLA. The General Linguistics Discussion
Group subscribes to the policies and guidelines of the MLA. For additional
