Inna lellah wa inna elaihee rag3oon (we belong to God and to him we are
returning). What a great loss! The field really lost one of the most
dedicated educators. I myself was enormously honored to be one of his many
pupils. I owe him a lot. I will never forget the first time I met him in
1996. He helped me a great deal to put my foot on the threshold of the
field of teaching Arabic as a foreign language. I will never forget him
standing by me in obtaining my fellowship at AUC. He was encouraging and
pushing me a lot to do better. I will never forget his methods in
presenting Arabic grammar to us when we were his students in TAFL. He was
explaining Arabic grammar by analyzing verses from Qura'an. It was a such
amazing class. I would like to extend my warmest condolences to his family
and everyone in the field as well.
