This three-day doctoral course is organised by the new doctoral programme in Interdisciplinary Discourse Studies (InterDisc) at Aalborg University. The doctoral programme welcomes doctoral students who are interested in studying discourses in contemporary societies in the broadest sense from interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary and post-disciplinary perspectives.

The format of the course is as follows: the first day will feature lectures by the invited guests with opportunities for questions and more extended discussions throughout the day. The morning and afternoon of the second day as well as the morning of the third day will involve smaller group work with each guest rotating around the groups. Participants will be divided into three clusters which will work with each guest in turn. Students will be able to present their research in these clusters. The focus of the cluster format is a problem-based learning (PBL) approach to interdisciplinary methods, topics and issues inflected by the concerns of the doctoral student participants. The afternoon of the final day will be given over to general reflections and discussion based on the work of the first 2½ days. The language of the course is English.

The course is for doctoral students working with discourse studies in the broadest sense. Doctoral students from outside Aalborg and Denmark can also participate. Full and active participation in the course will earn 3 ECTS.

Registration is free for doctoral students registered with a Danish University.
Otherwise, there is a registration fee of DKK 1000, which includes refreshments in the breaks, but not lunch or dinner. Accommodation and travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

The deadline for registration is 22nd June 2015. There are a limited number of places, so if the course is full then a waiting list will be kept.
