Call for Articles
Articles on language maintenance and language revival in any of the modern
Celtic languages are being sought for a prospective special issue of the
International Journal of the Sociology of Language. The issue would document
research both in Celtic Europe and the diaspora. The prospective Issue
Editor for this volume is Thomas Ihde of Lehman College, CUNY. Proposals
(and articles) may be written in English, French, or Spanish. In keeping
with the tradition of IJSL, stress in the proposed articles should be
clearly on the sociological aspects of language. Those interested should
send the article title and a two page abstract to Prof. Thomas Ihde, Foreign
Language Education Program, Department of Middle & High School Education,
Lehman College, CUNY, 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, Bronx, New York
10468-1589, USA. E-mail: tihde at lehman.cuny.edu. Deadline for proposal
submissions is Friday, November 30, 2001. Authors whose proposals are
accepted would be required to submit their completed article in nine months.
