To comment a bit on Marion's concern on language issue - you CAN post
in any Celtic language (including debate issues). In fact, you can
post in any language so long as a short English synopsis is provided
at the bottom.
The policy is:
"Memebrs are welcome to post in any other language besides English,
provided a short English summary is provided at the bottom of the
message. For instance, if you wish to announce a conference with
location and time details in another language, all you need say is in
English that you are announcing a conference."
If you check archives, you will see that Celtic language posts have
been made in the past. :)
The English synopsis is asked for because not all members of the list
may be fluent in that particular Celtic language. An Irish native
speaker may not be able to read a Welsh posting unless he or she has
taken a Welsh course (and vice-versa).
Members of the list are specialists in specific Celtic languages, yet
may want to be informed on other developments in research of other
Celtic languages. Hence, the lingua franca, unfortunately, is English.
Meanwhile, if members wish to provide translations of Celtling posts
into Celtic languages, please contact me, and we can make some sort
of arrangement.
