Dear Info-CHIBolts,
A couple of questions today from Leo Ferres at Carleton that might
interest others too:

1. How do I specify that I want all the utterance matching qui* except those
that match quit*? +s and -s in kwal cannot be used together, so... it beats
me.

Answer: Here's an example using the sample.cha file in the lib directory

kwal +stha* +d sample.cha | kwal -s"that's" +d

The first KWAL gets three lines, two with "that" and one with "that's". The
second KWAL takes the output of the first and filters out the "that's".
Same idea for filtering out "quit".

2. Have you guys done any testing for the compitbility of the clan system in
Windows 2000?

Answer: CLAN works a bit better in Windows 2000 than in Windows 98, largely
because 2000 is more stable. However the difference is particularly
noticeable in Asian languages, where you almost have to use 2000 to get the
complex two-byte scripts. Also, only 2000 currently supports our new
XML-Chat editor, which is still under development, but will be interesting
in a few months.
