windows vista

I have installed CLAN on Windows Vista and it seems to be compatible.
I have followed the steps in Chapter I of the CLAN document but when
it says hit the return key, you should get the following output,
nothings happens!

>>From file <sample.cha>
1 a
1 any
1 are
5 chalk


My commands window looks like this:

Working:                      C:\CHILDES\CLAN\lib\samples\

  lib:                              C:\CHILDES\CLAN\lib\




I have installed and unistalled the programme many times but it has
not changed anything.
I would be greatful for some hints.
