extract plain text from CHAT ?

Dear Frank,
I am pretty sure I don't understand your question. CHAT is
already plain unicode text, so that can't be the issue. I am guessing
(just guessing) that you are talking about removing all comment lines
and headers. Is that what you mean. If so, you then want to be able
to continue to run CLAN on the resultant file. Please tell us exactly
what you mean and what you are trying to achieve. My guess is that
this can be done, but understanding what you want exactly would help a
lot.
