MLU analyses questions

Bernadette,
MLU can run on speaker tiers. You need to add "-t%mor" option to "mlu" command line for that. However, the results of the analyses will not be very accurate. MLU searches for "-#~" symbols to count morphemes. Those symbols are used to separate morphemes in data files on "%mor" tier. Most of the data does not include any of those symbols on speaker tiers. In those cases MLU's morphemes count will represent words count instead.
Leonid.

For example, when searching for word "what" on speaker tier you would specify -s"what", but when searching for the same word on "%mor" tier you would specify -s"pro:wh|what" or

I am using the -s switch such as: -s at exclude.cut in the command, but it does not seem to be working (when I use the same switch with the FREQ program, it does work). Is there a certain way the file has to be set up to exclude words for MLU? The "exclude.cut" file itself is located in the same working/library directory as the files I'm trying to analyze.
