XML vs CHA

Dear Paul,
The XML files include all of the information in the CHAT files. In fact, the whole point of the Chatter
application, which you can download from http://talkbank.org/software/chatter.html is that you can use
it to turn CHAT into XML and then take that XML and turn it back into CHAT and the result will be identical
to the original CHAT. If your question is about how to understand the XML format, you will want to work with
the XML documentation at http://talkbank.org/software/xsddoc/. That documentation is linked throughout to
section of the CHAT manual describing each of the various XML codes.
