XML files for new corpus

Hello
We are preparing a new corpus on French and Spanish SLA and have a question
on XML files. As in addition to .cha files, we have the tagged ones
(.pst.mor.cex), WAV and MP3. On previous projects (SPLLOC and FLLOC) we
also created XML files. Is it still preferable to have XML files?
