Self-interruptions and self-corrections

That's really helpful, thank you.
While you're here, I have another quick query about quotative speech, for
example:
*CHI: +" come with me to the castle.
*CHI: the man said.
Is this right? I'm not sure how to deal with the 'the man said' at the end
of the first utterance.
