Is it also possible, Brittany, that you have not set your CLAN option for length of output to zero (unlimited)? If you have the default value of 500 and a large file, it will truncate your output.

Subject: Re: FREQ Analysis
Brittany,
FREQ is case sensitive command this means that first it will list all capitalized words in alphabetical order and then it will list all other words in alphabetical order. This might look like output is not alphabetized because there are often few capitalized word, i.e. proper nouns, and they often don't start with letter "A". Also, FREQ has +o option that makes FREQ output list in oder of frequency of words instead of alphabetical order. If you are not using +o option with your FREQ command and you think the output is not alphabetized correctly, then please email to me directly at least one file that shows this error and let mew know the exact command line you are using. It would also be very helpful if you could include the FREQ output that you are getting for that command running on that data file.
Leonid.

Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to run FREQ analysis on some of the files I am working on, and for some reason, on certain files, the FREQ output is starting in the middle of the alphabet (i.e. instead of starting by listing the frequency of all of the A words, it will start with the K words, or some other arbitrary letter). This is only happening on some of the files I am working on, and I can't find any discernible differences between the files. I am using the latest version of CLAN and have tried to run the files on several different computers, but I am still running into the same problem. Has anyone encountered this before, or know how to solve this problem?
Thanks,
Brittany
