`freq` runs hanging without error message

Hi, chibolts --

I have been running a series of `freq` commands on a directory full of .cha
files that I periodically update. Just today, running my commands on the
latest collection of files (now up to 265) causes CLAN to hang, and with no
error messages to tell me what to try to fix. (As an example: freq +d3
+s"*$ACK:*" *.cha +t%prs.) I can't detect a pattern among the contents of
the files that seem to be the last ones CLAN can process, before the hang
occurs.

I am running this on an old MacBook Air (2010), running Yosemite, and
haven't had a problem with a sample of about 150 files. I had been using a
CLAN version from June 2014 but just updated to the latest release, in
response to encountering this hanging issue.

Is it possible that the 265 files that I'm trying to analyze are just too
much for CLAN and my RAM? They're quite short -- averaging around 20 lines
apiece -- so I would be surprised if this were the culprit. So what other
issues should I be pursuing?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

L
