Illegal characters errors message Ellipses on Mac

Hello everyone-

I have an RA checking transcripts (using a Mac) and she reported an illegal 
characters error message when she does esc+L (image attached). This error 
message was not present when I checked the files (on a PC).

The error is identifying the ellipses in the transcript as illegal. A quick 
fix is just for her to re-type the three periods, but I also wanted to try 
to figure out why the issue happened in the first place. Does anyone know 
why that might be the case? She says she's running the most updated version 
of CLAN. I was trying to figure out if it had something to do with her 
being on a mac and me being on a PC? Or some automatic formatting of 
ellipses?
