UTF-16 encoded file error

[olp...@umsystem.edu]

When converting a file from TextGrid to CHAT this error message has popped 
up: 
"CLAN can't read UTF-16 encoded files: SUB2400145_24mo.TextGrid"

I am not sure how to go about fixing this or determining what this error 
message means. Wondering if anyone knows?
