The name "Valley of 10,000 Smokes" in Alaska, could it have come from the
Jargon?

"clouds" khapa BastEn lalang.
I ask this because "smok" in Chinook means either "smoke" or "clouds" in
English.

They say in this place in Alaska there's a lot of volcanoes, and also a
lot of rainclouds in the sky.

it's not impossible that this name means both things...
