Alta naika tiki mamuk nanich misaika iht tanas cim kopa "Kamloops Wawa".
Now I'd like to show you a bit of writing from "Kamloops Wawa".

A few clues:	"ilo" = "halo" / "hilu".
		"Erod" = Herod, the guy in fishnet stockings in "Jesus
			Christ Superstar" :-)
		"styuil" = prayer, religion (from Coast Salish st'iwilh)
		"son" = sun; day
		"wash" = baptize, baptized

Let's see if you can figure out the rest.  I think you'll find that Father
Le Jeune wrote (spoke) excellent Chinuk Wawa.



HISTORY OF THE APOSTLES

	108.  Peter cast into Prison.
	      Pitir tlap skukum haws.

	1.  Pus Piter iaka kopit mamuk wash Kornilyus,
iaka kilapai kopa Shirusalem.

	Kopa 44 sno kimta Sh[esyus] K[rist], Erod Akrita (?),
taii kopa Shyus, iaka chako saliks kopa
Kristian tilikom.  Iaka mash Sen Shems iaka latet,
pi iaka mash Sen Piter kopa skukum haws.  Kanawi
wash tilikom klaska help klaska taii kopa styuil.

	2.  Iht pulakli, pus iaka k'aw kah son klaska (sic?!)
tiki mimlus iaka, Pitir iaka le-dawn, sitkom kopa
mokst solshers, iaka k'aw kopa chen; pi hloima
solshers klaska tlus nanich kopa laport klahani.

	Sitkom pulakli iht lesash chako, iaka
mamuk patl lait ukuk skukum haws.  Lesash
wawa kopa Piter:  "Getop, iskom maika shus, pi
chako kimta kopa naika."  Piter mamuk kakwa.
Wik iaka komtaks pus iaka slip, pus ilo.

	Klaska mash skukum haws, pi klaska chako
kopa tawn laport, chikmin laport, pi ukuk laport
iaka aiak halak.  Klaska klatwa klahani kopa
tawn, pi iawa lesash chako ilo.



In transcribing this from the shorthand original, I've made a distinction
for you between the letters e and i -- However, in most cases, there's
just a single letter that can be read either way.  I figured that writing
it out the way I have will be more understandable.

Klaksta tiki mamuk ukuk kopa Baston Wawa?
Does anyone want to translate it into English?
