You can check a database at << http://www.sil.org/ethnologue/ >> which
lists over 6500 languages, including Pidgins & Creoles, and their
status. For example you will find that Tok Pisin is the national
language of Papua New Guinea. There is also information on the
availablity if literature in the languages also.
