I don't think any "English Only" measure has appeared on a
*national* ballot in this country.  Only pres. and vice
pres. candidates, although some of them have supported an
"English Only" amendment to the Constitution, and such an
amendment was (for all I know, still is) making its way
through Congress; if it gets the requisite number of votes
in Congress, it would go to the states for ratification.

At least one of the "English Only" organizations actually
made alliance for a while with people promoting Native
American language rights (after it was pointed out to the
organization that Native Americans are not, unlike the main
targets of the "English Only" movement, recent immigrants).
