FWIW,

In Michif, "My mother is baking bannock" = "Ni maamaa kiishishew la
gallet."

Cf. the Montana Salish (etc.) /lqelet/ that I cited, but bear in mind that
that one's just a note I penciled into my Spokane Salish dictionary a few
years ago -- I can't find the original source.  I suspect it's in my class
notes from Pauline Flett's Spokane course.
