Also purely recreationally-- Memories return of my Park Service days on
Isle Royale, standing quietly in front of the Malone Bay Ranger Station
with two or three whiskeyjacks (gwi:ngwi:s^s^i in Ojibway) feeding in
turn on the old bread in my outstretched hand. They're friendly, verging
on brazen.
