   (Here in Australia, the word "mate" is used for your best friend or your
   worst enemy. Serious conflict can
   be provoked or avoided depending how the word is uttered.  )

   (The Prime Minister of Australia recently tried to enshrine the concept
   of "Mateship" in the constitution.
   Women everywhere here said, "Pull your head in, mate!  It just sounds
   too blokey."  Then they said.
   "Hey! there is no word for that kind of female relationship in the
   Australian vocabulary."  Is there such in CJ?  )
