To echo Nadja's cry for more online material and Jeff's for style
tollerance, I would love to see a group produce online synoptic paraphrases
of some famous modern texts. Maybe there are people on this list who would
like to help?

The following is my paraphrase of a portions of some famous speaches. I've
written my best Internet jargon (It's pretty lousy), built from online
dictionaries and books and reading the conversations of the chinook list.
I'm sure more experienced speakers would use much more poetry.

1. Will anyone pick it apart (as cruelly as you can if need be)?
2. And please, please, would someone who is familiar with another kind of
jargon offer their own paraphrase?

I'd love to read this in GR style, Puget Sound style, Fraser Valley Style
(where I grew up), Northern BC and Alaska styles and any other style I
don't yet know of. It would be a great way to learn. I would organise
them and repost them in synoptic format if people wanted.

I've chosen these quotes to have a world view rather than just a Pacific
Northwest view or an American view or a Canadian view. I think they're
pretty well known and generally respected. I hope noone is confronted by
any of the words. Maybe maybe you will find them enjoyable puzzles.

I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black
domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in
which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunity. It
is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But, if need be, it is
an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every
hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that
