This would be quite a nice souvenir, if you had $30 to spend!

"circa 1900 Silk Ribbon Bookmark, cream colored with green printing on both
sides. First side has oval vignette of George Washington and the
phrase, 'Washington Quanisum pechugh illahee, tenas alta, delate hyas
kloshe, alki. Kloshe nanittch.' written in Chinook Jargon. The reverse side
has the English translation, 'Washington, the Evergreen State, is small
now, but will be great bye-and-bye. Watch us.' Washington became a state in
1889 and adopted the Evergreen State nickname in 1893, as suggested by C T
Conover. SIZE: 1 7/8 x 6 1/2; COND: no tears or separations; print shows
faintly from other side (not as noticible as scan); lightly soiled. It is
possible this was for the 1909 AYPE World's Fair in Seattle."

Item Number: ep492
Price: $ 30.00
