klahowya,

i came across a documented CJ placename from northeastern Oregon, much
more than the standard "skookum..." and "chuck..." types. i don't
think it is standardized in the USGS.

/kokshet cueton/

the translation that was given was simply "to break or broken CUETON."
it was named by the "Indians" meaning the Nez Perce or Cayuse-Nez
Perce. the pushtEn name for this place is White Horse Creek.

i would like somebody to give me the correct phonemic (linguistic)
representation. thanks,

Phil Cash Cash (cayuse/nez perce)
