"Chinuk Wawa iaka drit ilip tlos kopa okok
Lima Lalag [sic].  Nawitka ixt liprit iaka komtaks
okok Lima Lalag, pi kopa ukuk wawa iaka mamuk
komtaks tilikoms kopa ST iaka wawa kopa
Sondi, pi tilikoms wawa okok liplit iaka
komtaks ayu.  Klonas kopit ixt liprit
kakwa.  Nanich ayu liprit komtaks Chinuk Wawa
pi mamuk komtaks tilikoms kopa ST iaka wawa.

"Chinook Jargon is really better than that
Sign Language.  It's true, one priest knows
that Sign Language, and in that language he
teaches the people about God's word on
Sundays, and the people say this priest
knows a lot.  There may be just one priest
like this.  Notice that many priests know Chinook Jargon
and teach the people about God's word.
