While hunting for French-language Webcasts (my son is studying the
language), I was a bit surprised to run across this Inuktitut newscast
available as a video stream (RealAudio) from the CBC, and thought I'd pass
it along for anyone curious to hear the language.
>CBC Igalaaq brings you the day's news in the Inuktitut language every
>evening at 7:30 PM Eastern time (5:30 PM Mountain). Viewers from Nunavut
>and the Northwest Territories are kept up to date by daily current events
>and news from the Inuit world.
Go to <http://north.cbc.ca/north/television.html>, the links are down the
right (the first is the recorded weekday TV newscast, the others are
various radio broadcasts). The TV newscast is sked as an hour, but the
Webcast appears to be 30 minutes.
There are likely a few local US Native American language stations on the
air by now, of whom a couple may be Webcasting. I haven't had a chance yet
to look.
Here's a large index of links to Webcasting TV and radio stations
worldwide: the North American entrance is at <http://wwitv.com/>. It
appears not all require a broadband connection.
Regards,
Jeff
