I have been on Chuckanut drive, do not know if this is a Salish or Wawa derivation.

  Subject: meaning of "chuckanut"

Anybody want to take a stab at the word "chuckanut" while we are waiting for Dave to post the treaty? I know "chuck" is water or saltwater but I would like more info on the word since I live in the Chuckanut area (south of Bellingham) of Washington.

  Hayu masi,
