Yes, the proposed connection was with N /3ayaq/ 'do with energy'.
However, I haven't found any evidence of use of this word in the Nootka
Jargon, and the Chinookan seems like a better semantic match.

As I recall, hyak/ayaq is one of those items, like the word for water,
in which Chinookan and Southern Wakashan forms are similar (as Thomason
1983 points out).
