Graphite fontmaker for CJ shorthand?

Hello,
I was just following up on a mention of FLEX by a visiting scholar, Natasha
Warner. That's SIL's newest dictionary-making software, which she and a
California tribe are using to make a dictionary of Mutsun. (Judging by a
screen shot of hers, it looks like FLEX shows you a preview of the entire
dictionary entry as it will look when printed; nice.)
In the pages relating to that software is mention of a fontmaking
application, Graphite. Here's a link to a page that interested me:

site_id=nrsi&item_id=CmplxRndExamples
It appears as though this software is able to handle complicated writing
systems like CJ shorthand. I bet it would still take a devoted maniac (=IT
guy) to use. Anyway, I'm interested to know whether any of you has
experience with Graphite, or knows the word on the street.
There's a thoughtfully provided list of links on the above page to sites
that discuss Graphite, but I haven't had time to read all of them.
