I thought this might be of interest given the nature of this list.  The Linguist
List is looking for someone to write a review of David Crystal's (2001) Language
and the Internet - I've been in touch with them about it and apparently it's
still up for review despite the older publication date.

Maybe a five-years-since-Netspeak-and-beyond kind of review would be an
interesting contribution? Details below.

review from us but have not yet submitted your review, do not ask for new books
to review until you have submitted the review you owe us.

1. The bibliographic information about the book you wish to review. (Please copy
and paste it from this announcement.) If you are interested in more than one
book, list them in order of preference, no more than five, please.
2. Your full name and highest academic degree received.
3. Your current affiliation if any.
4. A short description of your research interests, especially as they pertain to
the book(s) you are interested in.
5. A postal address to which the book should be sent.

If you are selected to review a book, we or the Publisher will mail you a copy.
Instructions for preparing your review can be found at
http://linguistlist.org/pubs/reviews/guidelines.html. Reviews are to be
completed within SIX WEEKS of receipt of the book. If you find you are unable to
