Corpora: introductory books on NLP

Dear Corpora subscribers,

I wondered if anyone out there could recommend a good introductory text(s)
on the subject of natural language processing, parsing, tagging  etc.

I am interested in gaining an insight into the area while at the same time
I must acknowledge the fact that I have little computer programming
experience.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions/ recommendations.
