Corpora: WordNet for Perl!

In a dramatic proof of the efficacy of fasting and prayer in software
development, I just rec'd the following pointer from the
wn-users at princeton.edu group:

They work.  Windows users will have to make some minor changes in
QueryData.pm:
   /usr/local/bin should become c:/wn16/dict or equivalent.
 "index.noun" etc. filenames must become "noun.idx" etc.,
 "data.noun" etc. must become "noun.dat" etc.

Takes about 25 seconds to crank up on a 233/Pent II.  Fortunately, you can
now download a binary of the mod_perl - enabled Apache server for
Win9X (this keeps both Perl and any scripts you run resident for the life
of the server) from:

 ftp://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/pub/other/

This is about 10 megs because it includes a (necessary) Perl build
and libraries.  Installation is nearly painless; just have to set a few
Apache options (in the file that DOS windows call httpd~4.con).
  They were also kind enough to compile a downloadable binary
of Berkeley DB in the same directory.
  Oh, one other useful piece of software:  teleport (http://www.tenmax.com)
lets you run a Web spyder over a vanilla dialup line from Win9x.  With
disk at ten bucks per gigabyte, it's a whole new ballgame for corpus work.
