Introduction:

The lexicon issue, particularly the multiplicity of senses associated
to lexical items, has become a matter of growing importance in
linguistic
research. This conference means to offer an opportunity for
interdisciplinary debate on the theme, encouraging participation of
scholars from different areas.

Relevant themes include but are not restricted to:

- polysemy and context
- semantics, pragmatics and the lexicon
- computational approaches to the lexicon
- semantic indetermination and pragmatic negotiation
- polysemy, discourse and argument

The event is planned so as to avoid simultaneous activities of any kind.
Therefore, only a limited number of papers will be accepted (eight).
Each paper presentation is allocated a thirty-minute slot, twenty
minutes
for the presentation itself and ten minutes for questions and
discussion.

Abstracts may be written in Portuguese, French or English.
