  I would like to say thanks to the people who sent me their info - A. Perez, D. Lee, H-J Kaalep, L Bawcom. P Littlechild, G. Welson, D.Graff, Ramesh.

  There is nothing to be afraid of with such an international support. :-)

  In 1986 I defended my PhD based on BUC - it was first and still the only CL Thesis in USSR. My friend brought it me as present from US (he was sure it was Webster on that tape)

  Now I'll read CL lectures in the most Western point of the former USSR - Grodno U. As far as I know - the 1st regular CL course in former USSR ;-)

  Still - there are many linguists (at least here) that could not feel the difference between text garbage and text corpus :-(
