The University of Stuttgart is seeking to fill the Chair for Theoretical
Computational Linguistics in its Institute for Computational Linguistics
(IMS). The chair was previously held by Prof. Mats Rooth.
Principal responsibilities: Teaching and research in Theoretical
Computational Linguistics.
Central areas of interest: Mathematical and algorithmic properties of
linguistic formalisms used in syntax, semantics, phonology and
morphology.
Desirable: Expertise in questions concerning the combination of symbolic
and stochastic methods is considered desirable.
Applications must be received no later than six weeks after the
appearance
of this notice and should be mailed to the dean ("Dekan") of the
Philosophical
Faculty (Fakultaet 11) of the University of Stuttgart, Keplerstrasse
17,
70174 Stuttgart, Germany. Applications should include up to three of
the
applicant's publications.
