Corpora: Estimating corpus size from incomplete text fragments.

I am looking for information on techniques for estimating the total size
of a corpus based on data from incomplete but overlapping text
fragments.  This is for a project on the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Please reply directly to me. If there is sufficient interest, I will
summarize the results for the List.
