If you have an affinity for otiose o's, you may want to make friends
with the differently-originating, yet amusingly pervasive case of
"losing" spelled as "loosing".

It may be the case that the misspelling of "pronunciation" is a result
of 
its relationship to the word 'pronounce', which is spelled with an 'o'
and 
also sounds different.
