		 Two Research Positions Available in:
	   Computational and Experimental Psycholinguistics

The Psycholinguistics Group in the Department of Computational
Linguistics, Saarland University is seeking to fill two research
positions in the areas of Computational and Experimental
Psycholinguistics. The group has an active profile in human language
processing research, which includes on-line experimental studies
(eye-tracking), computational modeling, and statistical NLP.

1. Computational Linguist: We are especially interested in developing
incremental models of human syntactic parsing and semantic
processing. Knowledge of one or more of the following is desirable:
(probabilistic) parsing techniques, machine learning of natural
language, latent-semantic analysis, connectionist language modeling,
and experience working with large corpora.

2. Experimental Psycholinguist: Experience in designing, running and
analysing psycholinguistic experiments is desired. Ideal applicants
will also have familiarity with (some of) the following paradigms:
self-paced reading, eye-tracking (fixed or head-mounted), language
production, and web-based experiments. Good knowledge of German is
also strongly desired for this position, but may be waived for an
exceptional candidate.

These are primarily research positions, although some research related
teaching will also be involved (particularly for the experimental
psycholinguist). Candidates should have research experience in a
relevant subject area, and ideally hold a PhD. The positions are on
the BAT IIa scale (roughly up to Euro 40K per annum, depending on age
and family status) and are tenable for 2-3 years in the first
instance, with good possibilities for renewal. Positions are available
