[Corpora-List] question on ICE

Dear list members,
I wonder if some of you have been faced with the following problem: When we
had ICE-GB installed, the menu buttons were labelled with alphanumeric
signs. that in itself would be inconvenient but bearable. However, it is
impossible to search for words plus tags: When pressing the node button in
the text fragment box, what apperas is not +<> but again some aplhanumeric
signs. Deleting those and typing the string manually will not yield any
search results.

If anyone has experienced this problem and can suggest possible solutions,
I'd be most grateful if they could share those with me. I will of course
post a summary of responses.
