A training workshop in lexical computing and lexicography
The Lexicography MasterClass

Lexicom is an intensive one-week workshop that covers core topics
in Lexical Computing and Lexicography, as a 'baby sister' to Brighton's
MSc programme (http://www.itri.bton.ac.uk/courses/MScLex/).
* designing and building text corpora
* software for analyzing corpus data
* Frame Semantics and its relevance to lexicography
* discovering word senses
* designing and using dictionary databases & computer lexicons
* writing entries
Seminars on theoretical issues alternate with practical sessions at the
computer.
Applications are invited from people with experience in at least one of
* lexicography
* linguistics
* computational linguistics
* computer support for dictionary projects
* translation
The cost has been kept as low as possible, with discounts for second and
subsequent participants from the same institution, and for full-time
students. Early registration is advised (the Workshop has been
oversubscribed in previous years), and registrations received before the
end of April carry a discounted fee.
