SPECOM 2005

10th International Workshop on Speech and Computer

October 17-19 2005

University of Patras, Patras, Greece

 

Organized by WCL, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering,

University of Patras, Greece

in collaboration with

Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), Moscow, Russia

 

Supported by ISCA (International Speech Communication Association) and

ELSNET (European Network in Language and Speech)

 

 

AIMS

SPECOM 2005, the 10th International Workshop on Speech and Computer, is following the events held up-to-now alternately in St. Petersburg and Moscow (Russia). The aim of this workshop is to present and discuss new developments connected with natural human - computer interaction. In particular emphasis will be on the progress and challenges of speech and language technology applications.

            The scientific program will include several invited lectures as well as submitted paper presentations. Submitted papers will be published in a volume of proceedings available at the workshop.

 

TOPICS

Topics of interest for paper submission include but are not limited to:

  k.. Applied systems for Human-Computer Interaction 
 

VENUE

The workshop will be held at the conference centre of the University of Patras, Greece. Patras is located on the west coast of Greece, 200 km from Athens. It is the principal seaport linking the country with Italy and the commercial and cultural centre of Western Greece. Apart from its beautiful landscape, Patras is close to the famous archeological sites of Olympia, Delphi and Corinth.

 

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers of not more than four (4) pages. Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission through e-mail in ASCII format. All papers will be refereed by an International Scientific Committee. Submission of a paper implies a commitment to present the paper if accepted.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

Submission of full paper:            June 27, 2005

Notification of acceptance:            July 18, 2005

Early registration:                   July 29, 2005

Late registration:                   September 10, 2005

Workshop:                               October 17-19

 

LANGUAGE

The official language of the workshop will be English.
